self portrait

okay so this week for my 6x1 blogg i actually wrote a huge post about the visuals of my self portrait because we were aloud to talk about anything soo check that out too but as for this post i think ill talk alittle bout the sound scape, because i really wasnt sure it was going to work. So it starts out with a really blurry shot of myself in a mirror. there is an erie ambience and a person whispering i actually just took a clip of a confessional from like a reality show and cut it all up to make it sound like the male voice is talking to himself and basically apologizing. i layered some clips of a doctor talking about anxiety. i found a really appropriate part of his speech where he is talking about your legs taking you from A to B i loved that sound bit and tried to make it very audible. then i layered another sound bit of someone talking about skateboarding but its hard to tell what hes actually talking about. i used a crumbling sound from sounddogs.com for the title and for when the pills open up into the "screen". the only sound for the rest of the time was of me riding down a sidewalk. i rented a shotgun mic and hand mount and actually recorded this on my own. im sure i looked ridiculous with head phone a camera a huge mic riding down the sidewalk on eastwood at 2 am but i was really happy with the way it came out the sound of riding on a side walk with even sized slabs of concrete makes a really cool sound and it seemed to fit with the look of the flip book images. the part when i fall on screen the sound comes to a stop i guess that was just lucky and when i land the trick i start skating again . i just ran out of side walk and i had to turn around but it worked well. i basically let it run out until my credits. which i did for my first idea of myself portrait. i figured it would be dumb to just have text as credits so i turned my old title into my credits. soo now between this post ad my other one i pretty much have covered the whole making of Page 1 of 1. the end
