Rough and Tough like leatha
okay so i thought i wrote a response to the ready about micro cinemas but i had one like it for my 6x1 blog so i guess i didn't. but i think its better that maybe because this one will be better than one i did a week ago because this weekend i wen t to such an event. I went to a premier for a friends short film "Lazer Arm" it was a short campy sci fi film. it didnt get into visions so they decided to invite all their friends over to have their own viewing. And i agreed after watching it i dunno if it fit in cucalorus but when it was just a small venue with all friends it really was a fun film to watch.. plus the whole alcohol factor it was a small living room packed with about 30 friends watching a 30 inch plasma connected to a mac and a few speakers. they started off the even with some friends DJing. when everyone arrived and had a few beers they screen 3 small shorts before the feature. which wasnt really a feature it was probly only 15 minutes but compared to the rest it was. This whole thing reminded me of the article about the rough theater. it was a bunch of friends drinking and yelling and cursing at eachother, and cheering. i dont know if it would have worked in any other format i talked to a few other friends who said the same thing. they had seen it before but the atmosphere changed everything for the better. i believe there will be more of these in our future once i get a projector or steal one.

yeah "on the fly" microcinema! make sure you keep doing this kinda thing. it will make all of your filmmaking (big and small) more inspired!
